Program Spotlight: CrossFit Kids
In addition to our core CrossFit program, CFK offers specialty programs and other services to our members. These specialty programs are perfect for those who want a different focus to achieve their fitness goals. Our specialty programs are: CrossFit Kids (for kids ages 6-16), Fast & Strong (our endurance focused program), Barbell Club (our Olympic weightlifting class), Swing Fit (our kettlebell fitness program), and Legends (for the legendary 55+ crowd).
This month, it's CrossFit Kids in the spotlight!
With CF Kids, the whole family can learn to move safely and well, while having fun. Our Kids program has been a staple of CFK for over 4 years. CFK Kids builds a foundation of solid movement for our kids, and works well as both a standalone fitness program or as a supplement to other youth sports such as baseball or tennis.
Unlike adults, who must often work to develop or regain mobility and flexibility, many children need to develop stability. Each class incorporates extra core work and stabilizing movements.
We also focus on keeping the FUN in functional movement. We play games, challenge each other to plank wars, and occasionally manage to get the adults to join us in dodge ball.
Our classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30pm for beginners and our younger kids, ages about 6-11. Our 7:30pm class on Mondays and Wednesdays is for our slightly older kids or who have some CF experience, ages 11-16. We have a class on Saturday mornings at 8:15 for all ages.
