What is CrossFit Kids?
Kids (of all ages) naturally love to run, push, pull, jump, climb, throw, and move their bodies. In CrossFit Kids, they get the opportunity to do those things, and learn the fundamentals of good, sound movement in a supportive group class setting.
No experience is needed! Coach Jenn will show your child all the movements, modified as necessary to their current age and stage of fitness.
Each 45 minute class begins with a warmup and skill or strength development, followed by a WOD (“workout of the day”), and ending with a group game or additional skill work. The WOD reinforces skills learned in class; the game is primarily for fun, so the kids can experience the joy of moving. The WODs and games vary, and no two classes are ever exactly the same, which keeps the kids interested.
Because practice is essential to learning the movements and building strength, we review the basic functional movements (squats, presses, etc.) frequently.
We view our class as a team, and we foster a class culture of support, encouragement, and teamwork which spurs each child to work hard to better him/herself and increase the overall fun.
